Micro Quality Calibration’s (MQC) metrology services include the calibration and certification of light meters that primarily measure the amount of visible light in a geometrically defined area, and are indicated and reported in lumens per square feet or LUX (lux meter) readings. Light measurement has its applications in the photography, video, and film industries. It is also a basis for OSHA compliance, biotech and biopharmaceutical “clean room” and aseptic core standards, industrial processes, and bioenvironments that use photosensitive materials.

MQC offers accredited calibration and certification services for photometric light meters that measure illuminance, which include products and models from Extech, VWR, and Fluke, to name a few, and for a variety of special applications products including light-based curing chambers.

Light and photometric measurements and calibrations at MQC are referenced to a Hoffman “white light” source monitored by a Hoffman PCS-600 light meter. The Hoffman PCS-600 System, Illuminance Meter Calibration Kit can measure and certify light measurements in fractions from 5 to 2000 foot-candles (fc) or ~ 22,000 lux at accuracies better than 2.8% of reading from 5-200fc and 3.1% of reading from 200-2000fc.
